1. Receiving Eplan Education student licenses
We are happy to provide you with an Eplan Education for Students license. To get one, please register for our software here. You will be guided through the Eplan Cloud registration, where you can create your profile and choose which versions to download.
We also recommend you watch our two-minute video on the installation and registration process for Eplan Education. It will guide you through the process step by step.
As a student/trainee, you also have access to an entire series of eLearning course materials on eplan.com.
Our Eplan Education software includes the following products: Eplan Electric P8 for electrical engineering and for fluid-power systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling and lubricating, Eplan Preplanning for technical preplanning and Eplan Pro Panel for panel design and control cabinet engineering in 3D. Furthermore, access to the Eplan Data Portal is also included. Please note that you have a free choice in your username and passwords, but the former must be unique – as is typical for other forums.
Please note that the Eplan Education for Students version of the program is limited to forty pages of schematics.
Fundamentally all students, college and universities attendees and trainees are entitled to receive an Eplan Education for Students license.
The Eplan Education for Classrooms version is available for teachers and trainers for non-commercial teaching in educational institutions. If interested, please contact education@eplan.de.
In addition to classroom licenses, you will also receive comprehensive teaching materials, training, and installation support.

2. Technical questions about installation and registration
We recommend you watch our two-minute video about installing Eplan Education and the registration process. It will guide you through the process step by step.

Note: We always provide the latest 2 versions of our Eplan Education for Student software.
After registering, you will find your EID in the Eplan Cloud dashboard. Click on your name and the down arrow. Under Downloads, you will now see “Entitlement ID” - this is where you will find it.
If you still cannot find your EID in your account, please send an email to education@eplan.de.

Your old license cannot be extended, but it is very easy to request a new license, as long as you are still enrolled as a student. Please just log in and visit your personal user section here: https://downloads.eplan.com/ and click „Request License“ in the left menu bar.
Choose your desired version and confirm with „Request License“. Your new license with EID is directly available in your account in the „Entitlement IDs“ section and can be used for activation in your Eplan Education software.
Please click here to start the registration process for your Eplan Education student license. A window will appear asking you to create an Eplan ID. Near the bottom, you will see the option “Download Eplan Education with existing Eplan ID”. Please select this option and then enter your email address associated with your Eplan Cloud account and your password. You will receive an email from us asking you to confirm your email address by clicking on the link contained in the email.
You will be forwarded to your user profile on eplan.com. Please complete your education data (e.g. name of school), agree to the Eplan Education terms and conditions, and click the button at the bottom of the page to proceed.
Your Eplan Education student license is now being created and ready to use. You will find your new Entitlement ID, essential for activating your software, here: „Downloads” -> “Entitlement IDs”.
For an update to the newest version, you simply must request a new license. Please log in and visit your personal user section here: https://downloads.eplan.com/ and click „Request License“ in the left menu bar.
Choose your desired version and confirm with „Request License“. Your new license with EID is directly available in your account in the „Entitlement IDs“ section and can be used for activation in your Eplan Education software.
After requesting the license with the new version, you will find the corresponding software downloads for the new version available in your “Downloads” section.
Transferring the Eplan Education license to another computer or to a new operating system is not necessary, you can just request a new Entitlement ID in your account and then activate it on your new/additional computer.

3. Other
No, Eplan Education uses its own data format and it is incompatible with the professional version of the software.
Yes, because Eplan Education for Students and Eplan Education for Classrooms are completely compatible with each other.
However, please note that student licences are limited to forty schematics pages, therefore larger projects may not be able to be opened. The Classroom licences are unlimited in this respect.
Access to the Eplan Data Portal is also available for users of the Education version. Here your username and password can be chosen at will, whereby the former must be unique. You can find instructions for use in the Data Portal’s help section.

The Eplan Education for Students version of the software does not entitle users to use the hotline or provide any warranty. Therefore access to support is not possible.
However, your instructor/teacher does have the possibility of using Eplan Support as part of their subscription to Eplan Education.
As a student/trainee, you do have access to a large number of eLearning course materials.
