Eplan Cable proD: Plug & play for cables

Eplan Cable proD is a solution for quick and easy cabling of machines. The software digitises the corresponding designs and provides the information required for production and assembly. This means that prefabricated cables can also be used. 

Precision is required when constructing machines – all the way through to the final steps: if the cables don’t have the correct lengths or have been incorrectly routed, it is not uncommon for entire commissioning processes to have to be postponed.

Eplan has therefore dedicated an entire software solution for planning the corresponding machine cabling: Eplan Cable proD. This also makes it easy to order prefabricated cables. Time-consuming trimming and offcuts are now a thing of the past.

Determine cable lengths early on

The routing path and thus the length of the cable is determined on the digital model of the machine during the engineering phase, meaning that the space required for cabling has already been determined at this early stage of the process.

Include different disciplines

The requirements for the electrical engineering are visualised in the MCAD model, thereby ensuring that the cables can be installed as planned.

Easier ordering

Ordering the proper prefabricated cables is made easier because all the information has been collected in one place. The engineering results include the length along with the exact routing and connection assignments.

Secure planning

Early coordination between mechanical and electrical engineering allows for good planning, meaning that any “unpleasant surprises” – like those due to errors that are only first recognised in assembly – are a thing of the past.

Faster assembly

The digital twin provides important information for the mounting of the cables. The digital model is also used for coordinated planning. Any changes required at short notice remain the exception and schedules can be easily adhered to.
