The parts database has been revised to the current version. There is now an article database in the internal Eplan format *.alk with the corresponding directory *.adb.
The Eplan parts database replaces the existing Access database (*.mdb) from previous versions.
Migration of old parts database
- Staring the Eplan Platform.
- On the ribbon, select File > Settings > User > Management > Parts.
- Create a new scheme and select the database to be updated.
- The new dialog "New parts database technology" opens.
- Confirm with [Yes] (Make sure you have backed up the database).
- The "Migrate Parts Database" dialog opens.
- In the "Existing parts database" section, check that your existing database is selected.
- Now create your new parts database in the area "New parts database", assign a meaningful file name starting with your company ID (XYZ) E.g. "XYZ_Parts".
- Confirm your entry with [Ok].
- Parts are transferred to the new database.
- After successful migration, check the entry at the database source.
- Ready!
Hint Access database:
During a migration, not only data transferred to a new parts database, also the old Access parts database is updated. As a result, this parts database can be opened in older Eplan versions, E.g. for parts or device selection, but cannot be edited. An Access database is backed up during migration (e.B. ESS_part001 backup 1.mdb).
