Eplan Smart Production is installed on a server and then accessed via a web browser. The server should be operated within a local or closed domain network.
An Eplan Licence Manager is required to run Eplan Smart Production. This provides the necessary licence.
The production environment on which Eplan Smart Production is run must be set up, monitored and maintained by the operator. Advanced knowledge of working with server services in a distributed environment is recommended for operation.

Check the key prerequisites before starting.
- The server is set up and accessible on the network.
- You have local administrator rights on the server.
- An Eplan Licence Manager is accessible on the network.
- For operation with Microsoft SQL Server, a person with knowledge of setting up and managing SQL Server databases should be available.
- A service account for a Windows service is set up or can be created.
- If necessary, coordinate the required server, network, licence and database information with your IT department.
