Hannover Messe 2026

Hanover

Digitalisation gaps, growing efficiency requirements and the acute skills shortage are major industry-wide challenges. At Hannover Messe 2026, Eplan and Rittal will be demonstrating how companies in all branches of industry can use AI driven industrial automation to turn these challenges into measurable successes – in the shape of faster processes, better data quality and maximum future-proofing. In Hanover, we will be presenting software and hardware that panel builders, machine and plant manufacturers can use to advance their business.

With Eplan's software solutions, we accelerate the steps involved in electrical design. A digitalised and standardised data base forms the foundation on which various engineering disciplines are connected to each other. The Eplan Platform thus creates a digital twin for energy distribution and automation systems in machines or plants. This means that plant operators, machine as well as panel builders are networked with each other in an ecosystem via Eplan.

With the current version, Eplan Platform 2026, we have restructured our portfolio and networked various workflows even more closely with each other. Processes are mapped end-to-end, helping engineers to do their work efficiently.

Additional services increase the value of your engineering software

Eplan offers you the best engineering software on the market, based on guided workflows and industry standards, which allows you to solve complex tasks and at the same time handle routine tasks with just a few clicks. In addition, you receive comprehensive services such as Trainings, eLearnings, Customer Support and Consulting Services that enable you to get the most out of your software.

But we don't just think ahead in engineering here, we are also constantly developing further ideas to drive business forward. We will be presenting these concrete examples in Hanover:

  • Product Change Notification
In the Product Change Notification (PCN) use case, we show how component manufacturers can seamlessly communicate adjustments to their devices to designers and operators: When changes are made to a component, the engineer automatically receives a notification via the Eplan Cloud, informing them which projects this item appears in and which version is installed.
  • Eplan Smart Sourcing: This is our idea of intelligent procurement in electrical design. The solution enables panel builders and system integrators in particular to optimise their planning. This is because the tool makes it clear during the design phase where and how quickly the required parts can be procured.

We also show the potential we see for engineering in artificial intelligence. Learn more about the use case developed on the basis of the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service: In the future, an mounting plate layout will be generated fully automatically by AI. Or, for example, an agent system from Siemens, to which Eplan contributes; this simplifies the synchronisation of electrical and automation technology with the help of industrial AI agents.

Consistent right through to production

Eplan solutions also offer the advantage that the data collected in electrical design can also be used as a basis to produce control cabinets, machines and systems. The seamless workflow does not stop after engineering but also extends to downstream production and assembly processes. To this end, we work closely with our sister company Rittal.
