Libraries: Basics
A library maps the product for which you want to generate a documentation. You manage and organize your library data in a library. If you have filled a Library with data, you can subsequently publish it. With the publication of the library it becomes visible in the Project Builder for other users in your organization.
Organize library data
The smallest information units in your Library are configuration variables and macros. While you define the configuration variables in eBUILD, you manage macros in the EPLAN Platform. Placeholder objects in macros serve as the communication between the EPLAN Platform and eBUILD.
You bundle several macros and the associated configuration variables into a Macro-Typical. You bundle scripts and configuration variables into a Script-Typical. Macro-Typicals and Script-Typicals can in turn be assigned to Typical-Groups. It is also possible to nest Typical-Groups in each other. The Macro-Typicals, Script-Typicals and Typical-Groups are then combined in a configurator. All these elements are part of your library.
Define rules
In the library, you create and manage rules. A set of rules can include rules on dependencies, calculations and the appearance of the configurator. Configuration variables and the formula language designed for eBUILD are available for the definition of the rules. Through the rules you determine which configuration options the user has in Project Builder.
General requirements for working with libraries
- You have started the EPLAN Platform.
- You have signed in to EPLAN Cloud.
- You have signed into an organization.
- You have opened the Designer.
