It remains a fast-paced business: grid expansion and digitisation are at the top of the agenda for the energy industry. The reasons include high demands for climate-neutral solutions, security of supply and the integration of renewable energies. Furthermore, infrastructure networks must be upgraded for the energy transition – so speed is of the essence. Eplan and Rittal will be presenting innovative solutions for the energy industry at the E-world energy & water 2026 in Essen, Germany, and will show how digital planning, standardised hardware and smart data modelling can significantly accelerate the expansion of energy infrastructure.
Choreographing the Energy Transformation via Standards, Networking and the Digital Twin
Preplanned ideas for the energy industry
E-world energy & water is considered the most important meeting place for the European energy industry. This year, Eplan and Rittal will show how companies can rise to meet the ever-increasing demands of the energy transformation using digital tools, standardised systems and integrated, end-to-end processes. The questions in focus: How can planning, design, documentation and implementation processes be accelerated over the long term without compromising on quality operational security? Furthermore: How can the digital transformation also be accelerated?
Speeding up energy grid expansion with digital twins of plant systems
Eplan will be presenting ideas for the digital development of plants in the power grid, in energy storage, power generation and in charging infrastructure. With digital twins and preplanned engineering templates, network operators and energy companies are able to more quickly realise projects – from preplanning to documentation to commissioning. They will also be presenting how existing documentation can be transferred into Eplan projects and specially developed workshops on data migration and the new “Eplan Energy Design Essentials” support companies in making a quick transition.
RiLineX – better and faster power distribution
Rittal complements digital engineering with standardised hardware solutions for switchgear systems, power distribution systems and climate control systems. One special focus is the RiLineX busbar systems, with their “click & work” concept that according to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute reduces assembly times by up to 75 per cent. This is an important consideration in view of the increasing needs for energy grid expansion. Furthermore, Rittal is also showcasing robust control cabinet solutions that are specially tailored to the requirements for electrical substations and that ensure reliable operations even under extreme conditions.
New methods for energy from wastewater
Eplan is also focusing on the topic of energy efficiency in municipal facilities. A modular, demonstration sewage treatment plant is used to show how wastewater treatment processes can be digitally planned and optimised in terms of energy efficiency – from process controls to sludge treatment to gas utilisation. The plant serves as an example of an integrated energy system that is scalable, standardised and future-proof.
Engineering and Hardware – Hand in Hand
With their joint presence, Eplan and Rittal are showing how companies can dynamically choreograph the transformation of the energy industry with the help of digital twins, standardised components and networked data worlds. E-world attendees are invited to come stop by Stand D116 in Hall 5 and get in contact with the specialists to exchange ideas.
